BumWobble Games is an independent game developer, founded by Leeman and Amber on 2023 September 1st. Their home office is located in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, within 10 minute driving distance to the Vancouver International Airport and Vancouver. With Leeman’s extensive background in web and software development since the late 1990s, he was able to co-found multiple companies. However, he has never really felt much of a connection with any of them. He has always wanted to create his own gaming studio. He tried creating a game development company with his nephew (2nd cousin in western terms), but due to his nephew’s scheduling and other constraints, ultimately, Leeman realized for him to move forward, he needed to stop waiting and continue on with his passions. Thus BumWobble Games became its own thing. So moving forward, Leeman and Amber will combine their creativity, expertise, and passion to create entertaining wonderfully captivating games. ^_^
LEEMAN CHENG
Primary Roles: Game Design, Story-Telling, Implementation
Gaming all started in the early 1980s with handheld LCD gaming. When he entered elementary school, his teacher introduced the class to the Apple II computer where he played games such as Math Blaster and Oregon Trail. Since then, he has come a long way with his past time favourites being the Fallout series up to Fallout 4, the Baldur’s Gate series, Might & Magic Darkside of Xeen, World of Xeen, as well as the numerous point & click adventure games such as King’s Quest 6 and Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist. In more modern times, he has entrenched himself in World of Tanks, Star Wars The Old Republic, The Elder Scrolls Online, Bloons TD6, 7 Days To Die, Dune Spice Wars, Valheim, and Wildermyth. With all that said, he has had a lot of experience with a multitude of genres and storytelling perspectives over the last nearly four decades of his life. Which could also be said about his passion for creating, designing, and applying his ideas into a gaming environment where his imaginations can come to life.
Leeman’s extensive background in web and software development since the late 1990s, comes from his experience co-founding multiple companies and working with dozens of clients since then. However, he has never really felt much of a connection with any of them, since they were primarily in the fields of finances, medical devices, and e-commerce. He has always wanted to create his own gaming studio. He tried creating a game development company with his nephew (2nd cousin in western terms), but due to his nephew’s scheduling and other constraints, ultimately, Leeman realized for him to move forward, he needed to stop waiting and continue on with his passions.
AMBER CHENG
Primary Roles: Art, Character & Environmental Design
Gaming started for her as a kid playing on consoles. The first experiences were on the NES, then on a Sega Saturn, then a Playstation One, the Gamecube, the Wii and the Nintendo DS. Until 2010, her gaming experience were limited to console games as well as an occasional casual PC game. Just a few months after meeting Leeman however, he introduced her to World of Warcraft, which opened her up to a whole new world of PC gaming. Her favourite games include The Sims 3, 7 Days To Die, World of Warcraft, Valheim, Bloons TD6, The Elder Scrolls Online and Stardew Valley, but she also really still enjoys casual time-management games.
Amber has always had an interest in visual art, and has in her youth and younger adult years been a passionate painter. However, over the years this hobby has taken more and more of a backseat in her life. In recent years however, digital art has caught her interest and with the creation of BumWobble Games, she is eager to establish herself as an illustrator and put her visual stamp on this team’s creations.
